FAQ

What services do you provide?

Whitebark Health provides comprehensive medical evaluation and treatment for a constellation of eating- and nutrition-related symptoms. We’re uniquely positioned to order work-ups and labs to help uncover root causes and downstream effects on your health.

In our 45-minute follow-up appointments, we’ll go in-depth on your symptoms. Over time, expect your relationship to food and your body to evolve while building self-compassion and body image resilience.

How are you different from a counselor or dietician?

In many cases, Whitebark Health may work collaboratively with your counselor and dietician as part of your care team.

  • Whitebark Health offers weight-inclusive medical treatment to address your physical health.

  • A counselor can provide ongoing emotional and psychological support.

  • A dietician can provide specific recommendations given your medical diagnoses.

What if my goal is to lose weight?

Whitebark Health believes in changing your relationship to food and your body to improve your overall health, performance, and well-being. We don’t believe in restrictive dieting or aggressive exercise regimens. Instead, Whitebark Health follows the Health at Every Size® Principles and Framework of Care.

We understand the societal and even medical pressure to lose weight; however, this isn’t aligned with our philosophy on nutrition and well-being. We’re focused on changing behaviors to promote health, and that might not lead to any weight change at all.

The goal is to create health and happiness — including body respect and a peaceful relationship with food — without being tied to a scale.

How do I pay?

Whitebark Health is a cash-based membership practice. While memberships are not reimbursed by insurance, some services may be eligible for reimbursement through a superbill.
